Magrudergrind

Magrudergrind is a 2002 in Washington, D.C. based American Powerviolence-/Grindcore-Band. Like the, also from the U.S. band Pig Destroyer dispensed Magrudergrind the use of an electric bass.

Band History

Magrudergrind was founded in 2002 by three friends Avi Kulawy, Chris Moore and RJ Upper founded. The three musicians had previously played in unknown bands and shared the interest in both grindcore and hip- hop. In 2003, the band released their first demo, entitled Do not Support Humanitary Aid Led by the Church, in 2004 was followed by a split MC with Akkolyte and 2005, a split EP with Godstomper. In the same year appeared to 2000 pieces limited and self-produced album Sixty Two Trax of Thrash in the American independent label To Live a Lie Records, a compilation of tracks previously included on split EPs the band. The prestigious than rehashed debut album was released in 2007 when Californian DIY label Six Weeks Records, limited to 1000 CDs and 1000 LPs. The second, self-titled album was released in June 2009 in the USA Willowtip Records and was sold outside the U.S. by Candlelight Records. The album was mastered by Scott Hull. The end of 2010 took Magrudergrind to EP Crusher, which appeared in the spring of 2011 the French indie label Bones Brigade Records. In a review on this EP, the music magazine Rock Hard Magrudergrind designated as one of "the most important Powerviolence Grind Combos '. In the summer of 2007 & 2011, the band played at Obscene Extreme in Czech Republic.
