Maha Chana Chai District

Amphoe Maha Chana Chai ( in Thai อำเภอ มหาชนะชัย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Yasothon. The Yasothon Province is located in the eastern part of northeast Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

History

The Maha Chana Chai place used to be called Han Chai Chana ( หัน ชัน ชนะ ) of 1859 from Prince Thao Puttakhamphun ( ท้าว ปุตตะ คำ พูน ราชบุตร ) was founded. 1863 named King Mongkut (Rama IV ) the place in Mueang Maha Chana Chai to.

In 1909 the site became one Amphoe of Ubon Ratchathani province was, and his name in Amphoe Fa Yat ( อำเภอ ฟ้า หยาด ) has been changed, as was his administration in the village of Fa Yat on 24 April 1917. On 7 April 1939 the name was changed back in Amphoe Maha Chana Chai.

When the new Yasothon province was created on 1 March 1972 Maha Chai Chan was one of the six districts that make up the new province was originally.

Management

Amphoe Maha Chana Chai is divided into ten municipalities ( tambon), which in turn in 103 villages ( Muban ) are divided.
