Maid

A maid is a female member of the house, yard or on the land of the field - servants, the female counterpart to the servant. In Germany was uncommon with the matter, the concept.

Originally it was " maid " as much as " Maid", an unmarried (young) woman, compare the attribute " pure maid " for the Virgin Mary; according meant " maidenhood " in the elevated language until the 20th century, then as much as virginity.
