Maiko Kano

Maiko Kano (Japanese狩 野 舞 子, Maiko Kano; born July 15, 1988 in Mitaka ) is a Japanese volleyball player. She won the bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Career

Kano began her career at the "Practical High School Hachioji " ( Hachioji Jissen Koto Gakko ). Her older sister Miyuki played in the Olympic Tournament 2008 for Japan. She came even 2007 Hisamitsu Springs and reached the same year the Japanese Cup final. In 2009 she debuted in the Japanese national team, with whom she came in third place at the Asian Cup. 2010, there was the same result at the World Championships. Then she went for a season in the Italian league to Minerva Volley Pavia. The Asia Cup 2011 ended Kano with Japan in second. In the same year she moved to the Turkish first division club Beşiktaş Istanbul. In 2012 she took part in the London Olympics and won the bronze medal.
