Maikro Romero

Maikro Eusebio Romero Esquirol ( born December 9, 1972 in Havana ) is a former Cuban boxer who was 1996 Olympic champion in the flyweight.

Career

1992-1994, 1997, 1999 and 2000, Romero was Cuban masters. In 1996 he won at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, the gold medal in the flyweight, he hit on the first lap later a U.S. American professional world champion Eric Morel won the final and almost 12 to 11 against Bolat Schumadilow from Kazakhstan.

In the Cuban championship of the year 1998, he was defeated Yan BARTHELEMI, but won the World Cup tournament in Beijing. In addition, the American Brian Viloria hit on the way to winning the Goodwill Games.

He was beaten at the World Championships in Belfast in the second round of the tournament from the Ukrainian Wladimir Sidorenko 2001. At the end of 2001, he finished his career.
