Mainichi Broadcasting System

Mainichi Hoso (Japanese毎 日 放送, English Mainichi Broadcasting System, for short. MBS) is a Japanese radio and television stations. Seat is the architecturally interesting MBS Building in Osaka.

MBS was one of the first commercial radio station, began operation in 1951, at that time still under the name Shin Nippon Hoso (新 日本 放送, New Japan Broadcasting). 1956, the operation of the Osaka Television Company was included in a collaboration with the Asahi Broadcasting Company. The name Mainichi Hoso was assumed in 1958, before finally in 1959 even began with the television broadcast.

From MBS on channel 4 around 22 million viewers are reached in the Kansai area. This includes Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto and Nara. In addition, MBS can also reach viewers nationwide via the Japan News Network.
