Majiabang culture

The Majiabang culture (Chinese马 家 浜 文化/马 家 浜 文化, pinyin Majiabang wenhua, English Majiabang Culture) is a Neolithic culture in China. She was on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and widespread in the catchment area of Lake Taihu. It was discovered after the 1959 Majiabang - site at Jiaxing City嘉兴 市, Zhejiang Province, named. Elements of Hemudu culture have evolved from it. According to the radiocarbon dating method it is dated to about 4750-3700 BC.

The economy consisted mainly of agriculture, it was Xian - rice ( Oryza sativa subsp. Hsien ) ( a long grain glutinous rice) grown, also pigs, dogs and other pets have been bred, fishing and hunting were also developed.

The Majiabang - site (Chinese马 家 浜 遗址, Pinyin Majiabang Yizhi, English Majiabang site) since 2001 has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-40 ).
