Majuli

Majuli ( Assamese মাজুলী ) is a river island in the state of Assam in northeastern India. On the island located in the Brahmaputra live about 140,000 inhabitants. The 421.65 km ² large island rises to a height of 84.5 m; there are Hindu monasteries.
