Makasar is a district or Kecamatan of East Jakarta in the province of Jakarta. It has an area of ​​21.64 km ² and 157 261 inhabitants (as of 2000). History

The formerly known as " Kampung Makasar " (village Makasar ) known area includes the current district or Kelurahan Makasar and part of Kelurahan Kebon Pala and Kecamatan Jati Kramat.
