Makhtar Thioune

Makhtar Thioune (* August 5, 1984 in Richard Toll ) is a Senegalese footballer who is since August 2012 in Viking Stavanger under contract. His preferred position is attacking midfield.

Career

Thioune began his career at ASC Linguère. From 2004, he played one and a half years for the ASC Autonomous Port and won in 2005, the Senegalese football championship. In January 2006, he moved to Norway for Sarpsborg 08 Fotballforening. With Sarpsborg he played three years in the Adecco Ligaen before he moved in January 2009 to Molde FK in the Tippeligaen. In his first season he was named to the Kniksen Award for midfielder of the year in Norway and was in the final of the Norwegian Football Cup against Aalesunds FK. Thioune controlled during the penalty the penalty mark in one hit. In 2011, he was with Norwegian Molde football champions. In early 2012 he was loaned out to Karlsruher SC. On February 17, 2012, the 22nd matchday Thioune played at home against Energie Cottbus (2-0) his first second league game when he came on in the 74th minute for Aleksandre Iaschwili. After completion of the relegation matches against Jahn Regensburg he went back to Molde. From there he moved to Viking Stavanger. After the league game against Brann Bergen end of April 2013 stood Thioune racism allegations against referee Svein -Erik Edvartsen and was then suspended for two games club internally. For the Senegalese national football team Thioune graduated since 2006 nine internationals.
