Makoto Iijima

Makoto Iijima (饭 岛 诚Japanese, Makoto Iijima; born February 12, 1971 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing driver.

Makoto Iijima in 2003 was sixth in the overall standings at the Tour of South China Sea. Two years later he was again second stage and third once and finished second in the overall standings to ninth. In 2005 he won the individual time trial of the Japanese championship. Several times he won medals at Asian Games and Asian Cycling Championships and won stages at the Asian tour. In 2006 he became Asian champion in the points race on the track. In 2009 he won at the East Asia Games gold medal in the team time trial.

Three times - in 2000, 2004 and 2008 - started Iijima at the Olympic Games in the points race. 2000 and 2004, he occupied the 16th place, respectively, in 2008 eighth.
