Makoto Koga

Makoto Koga (古 贺 诚Japanese, Makoto Koga, * August 5, 1940 in Setaka (now Miyama ), Fukuoka Prefecture) is a former Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP). From 2006 to 2012, he led ( officially: Kōchikai ) in the LDP, the Koga faction.

From 1980 Koga belonged to fünfmandatigen third constituency of Fukuoka Prefecture, from 1996 to Einmandatswahlkreis 7 at the House of Commons and was continuous member of Kōchikai, the split in November 2000 in the later Tanigaki and Koga factions and 2008 reunited. From 1996 to 1997 Koga was Transport Minister in the LDP from 1998 to 2000 Chairman of the Committee for Parliamentary Affairs, 2000-2001 Secretary-General from 2007 to 2009 Chairman of the campaign committee.

In the general election in 2012, he did not run for a new term. His constituency took over for his former LDP secretary deputies Satoshi Fujimaru.
