Maksim Kedrin

Maxim Nikolayevich Kedrin (Russian Максим Николаевич Кедрин; born September 21, 1982 in Leningrad ) is a former Russian skier. He came through his mother Lyudmila Kedrina (b. Reus), which was a ski racer himself, to skiing. His younger sister Anastasia Kedrina was also a ski racer.

Career

Kedrin took from the winter 1997/1998 in FIS races and the Russian championships. From December 1998 he also took part in the race in the European Cup, but the first points he won only in February 2000 with a 20th place in the Super G in Garmisch -Partenkirchen. During the next two years, he came back in any race in the points, so in the top 30 three times Kedrin took part in the Junior World Championships and reached here placements in the middle or back of the field. His best result was a 25th place in the Super- G in 2001.

In 2000 Kedrin reached first podium finishes in FIS races and in December of the same year he competed in Val d'Isere his only two World Cup races. In these giant slalom, it remained without result. In January 2001, the Russian took part in the World Championships in St. Anton am Arlberg. He started only in the Super G, finishing in 34th place among 43 evaluated runners. A year later, he took part in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and finished 36th in the downhill. In the combination, departure he was 27, but in combination slalom, he joined not to.

On 28 November 2002 Kedrin could with eleventh place in the giant slalom in Levi points for the second and last time in the European Cup. In the new year, he still scored several podium finishes in FIS races and three second places at the Russian Championships, before 2003 ended his career.
