Maksim Mikhailovsky

Maxim Mikhailovich Mikhailovsky (Russian Максим Михайлович Михайловский; born July 24, 1969 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a retired Russian professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

Maxim Mikhailovsky began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at HK CSKA Moscow, for its first team he Wysschaja in the league, the highest Soviet League, and later the next competition International Hockey League was active from 1988 to 1993. From 1993 to 1995 the keeper was out of the Colonial Hockey League between the posts at the Detroit Falcons. In the 1994/95 season he was voted the best goalkeeper in the league. In parallel, he also played five games for the Adirondack Red Wings of the American Hockey League as well as a game for the Detroit Vipers of the International Hockey League.

For the 1995/96 season Mikhailovsky was obliged by his former club HK CSKA Moscow of the International Hockey League. In the 1997/98 season he went to the HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Russian Super League. He spent the following three years at their league rivals HK CSKA Moscow. From 2001 to 2003 played the world champion from 1993 to HK Lada Togliatti. He then ran for a year on the HK CSKA Moscow. The 2004/05 season he joined Lada Togliatti and finished it at Severstal Cherepovets. In the 2005/06 season he played in the second-rate Wysschaja League for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, before he ended his career at the age of 37 years.

Internationally

For Russia Mikhailovsky took part in the 1993 World Championships, where he won the gold medal with his team. He also starred in the squad of Russia at the world championships in 1996 and 1997. Previously Mikhailovsky had already won by the USSR at the Junior World Cup in 1989, the gold medal.
