Maksimas Katche

Maksimas Katche (German Wilhelm Johannes Arwed Max Kattchée or Kattchee, russ Макс Арведович Катхе ) (born 24 Oktoberjul. / November 5 1879greg. Jonischken in ( Joniškis ), Kr Siauliai (Šiauliai ), Lithuania (then Russian province of Kovno ), † June 10, 1933 in Birsen ( Biržai ), Lithuania ) was Imperial Russian colonel, St. Georg Ritter, Lithuanian lieutenant general and participants in the Lithuanian independence struggles.

Katche came from a German - Baltic family, which had become established in northern Lithuania. He attended the Wladimirsche Officer School at St. Petersburg in 1899 and lieutenant in the Russian army. From 1904 to 1905 participation in the Russian -Japanese War. From 1908 to 1911 he worked at the military school in Vilnius. During World War II he took from 1914 to 1917 in the fighting against the Germans on Lithuanian territory part.
