Malaysian Chinese Association

The Malaysian Chinese Association ( MCA; Chin马来西亚 华人 公会/ Abbreviation:. .马华公 会; Persatuan China Malaysia time ) is a right-wing conservative political party in Malaysia that represents the Chinese population. She is involved as one of the three major parties of the Barisan Nasional coalition in government. The party chairman Chua Soi Lek is.

Influence

Together with the larger United Malays National Organisation and Malaysian Indian Congress has the smaller the MCA a major impact on the country's politics.

In the election in 2004 the party won 15.5% of the vote and 31 of 219 seats in the Malaysian Parliament. In the 2008 election, she won 10.3% of the vote and 15 of 222 seats.

Foundation

The MCA was established on February 27, 1949 out of the need to preserve the Chinese in Malaya prior to repatriation, which was promoted by the British since the communist revolt supported mainly by Chinese.
