Malibu Rum

Malibu is a fruit liqueur made from white rum, sugar and natural coconut extracts. He has a relatively low alcohol content of 21 percent by volume.

Malibu was first produced in 1895 in Barbados in the Caribbean. The production has been now extended but for economic reasons to Spain.

Often held confusion between Malibu and the competition drink Batida de Coco, but the former need for an additional cream.

Malibu is a part of many cocktails. It is drunk rarely pure, mostly mixed with pineapple, orange, passion fruit or cherry juice, but sometimes also with lemonade (eg Sprite). Here, the coconut flavor is reduced. Likewise, Malibu is also often mixed with milk, as this then gets a typical coconut milk flavor. Together with Bacardi 151 and pineapple juice, it becomes a " Caribou Lou".
