Malika Benarab-Attou

Malika Benarab- Attou ( born March 25, 1963 in Aïn Benian, Algeria ) is a politician of the French party EELV. Since the European elections of 2009, she is a member of the European Parliament.

Curriculum vitae

Malika Benarab- Attou was born in Algeria in a Kabyle family. 1968 her parents emigrated to France, where her father worked at Renault. Benarab- Attou grew up in Les Abrets ( arrondissement of La Tour- du-Pin, Isère ).

Benarab- Attou studied at the École nationale supérieure de sécurité sociale and the University of Paris VIII and worked for a health insurance company in Chambery later. After she had previously engaged in anti-racism, she joined in 2002 the French green party Les Verts on. In the European elections in France in 2009, she was elected as the third place winner of the list of Europe Écologie in the constituency of south-eastern France in the European Parliament.

In Parliament Benarab- Attou is a member of the Committee on Culture and Education, where she is also spokesperson for the Greens / EFA group. She is also a member of the delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union. In the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs is deputy.

Benarab- Attou has dual French and Algerian nationality.
