Mallet finger

As Hammer fingers the ongoing flexion of Endgelenkes a finger is called. The cause of this phenomenon can be both innate and acquired as ( in some forms of camptodactyly ) (eg, as a sports injury, " baseball finger" ). In the acquired form occurs after avulsion of the extensor tendon of the distal phalanx to a base thickening and thereby duration flexed position of this part of the finger. In the great majority of cases a hammer finger does not need to be operated on. In many cases ( there are exceptions) it is possible to achieve a good result through consequent immobilization ( 6-8 weeks ) with a stack rail 's reach.
