Geography

Geographical Location

The double municipality Malsburg- Marzell is located in the rear Kander Valley in the southwestern Black Forest. The municipality covers an altitude of 429 meters above mean sea level up to 1165 meters high, Blue (also Hochblauen ) and is home to more than 70 % covered by forests.

Within the area southeast of the Hochblauen is probably the highest castle place in Baden-Württemberg, castle Stockberg.

History

Marzell was first mentioned in 1152, Malsburg in 1301. Oldest part, however, is Kaltenbach, which was already mentioned in 1095. Culture and sights
