Małujowice

Małujowice ( German Mollwitzstraße ) is a village in the municipality Skarbimierz ( Hermsdorf ) in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland.

History

The place is known by the Battle of minor joke in years in 1741.

Attractions

Worth seeing is the Gothic church of 1250, with its rich, dating from the mid 14th to the early 16th century wall paintings. Because of the destruction by the Hussites, the murals were restored in 1480. They include subjects from the Old and New Testaments ( Biblia pauperum ) and are among the best Gothic murals in Poland. In 1526 the church was Protestant, after the murals were plastered. In the 60s of the 19th century, the images were freed in the main nave from the plaster and placed the murals free. In 1945 the church was Catholic, today it is the Catholic parish church of St. James.
