Maly Delschaft

Maly Delschaft ( born December 4, 1898 in Hamburg, † August 20, 1995 in Berlin; actually Amalie Köster Delschaft ) was a German actress and to see since about 1920 in many feature film roles.

Life

The daughter of the plasterer Hermann Friedrich Julius Delschaft and his wife Ida Caroline Christine, nee Hiller man who played the mediation of her mother in 1907 at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg in a stage adaptation of Anna Karenina a boy role.

After acting lessons during the time of the 1st World War by Carl Wagner and Franz chalk man she made her debut in 1917 at the Stadttheater in Bremen. As Luise Miller she was here in the same year in Kabale und Liebe first leading lady.

Over exposure to Breslau in 1919, she moved to Berlin in the early 1920s, where he played at various theaters, including the Berlin theater and came to the film. Her first major silent film role, she received in 1924 on the side of Emil Jannings in The Last Laugh. Similarly, significant for their breakthrough was the vaudeville production (1925 ), where again Jannings was her partner for them.

In the second half of the 1920s she became a silent film star.
