Mammoet

Mammoet (Dutch Mammoet " mammoth ") is a Dutch company that specializes in lifting and transporting heavy objects. The main areas are the construction of buildings as well as in the recovery.

With the help of self propelled modular transporter, the company works on land and on the water, on inland waters as well as offshore. In the construction of buildings Mammoet is able to place large objects in the petrochemical industry and bridges in a short time.

The company was founded in Schiedam, where it maintains an office building since 2001, bears the name De Bolder (German bollards). Other branches, the company in North and South America, in South Africa, the Middle East, Australia and East Asia.

From 1973 until its sale in 2000, the company held the heavy- Mammoet Shipping. This now belongs to the shipping group Spliethoff in Amsterdam and operates under the name BigLift.
