Mamoru Hosoda

Mamoru Hosoda (细 田 守Japanese, Hosoda Mamoru, born September 19, 1967 in Kamiichi, Nakaniikawa -gun, Toyama Prefecture) is a Japanese director of animated films and series.

Mamoru Hosoda visited the University of Art in Kanazawa, where he earned a degree in oil painting. In 1991 joined Mamoru Hosada Toei Animation, which meant its entry into the anime industry. At the beginning he was involved in the direction of different anime television series, before some movies like Digimon Adventure Digimon or One Piece - Baron Omatsuri and turned the mysterious island about One Piece.

In 2005, he ended the cooperation with Toei Animation. After this separation, it was on the Studio Ghibli for the film Howl's Moving Castle as a director talking, but eventually took Hayao Miyazaki this post. His film The Girl Who Leapt Through Time won several awards, including the Japanese Academy Award for Best Animated Film. Summer Wars won the Grand Prize in the Animation category at the Japan Media Arts Festival. Hosoda was honored at the 15th Animation Kobe with the Individual Award.

On September 24, 2012 his first son was born.
