Mamoru Shigemitsu

Shigemitsu Mamoru (Japanese重 光 葵, born July 29, 1887 in the prefecture of Oita, † 27 June 1957 Yugawara ) was Foreign Minister of Japan in World War II.

He signed with Yoshijiro Umezu on September 2, 1945 aboard the battleship USS Missouri, the unconditional surrender of Japan. He was later sentenced to seven years in prison during the Tokyo processes as war criminals. In 1950 he was pardoned and was Minister of Foreign Affairs again from 1954 to 1956 in Japan.
