Manar Jonban

Monar Dschonban ( Monar -e ǧombān = " swaying minarets " ) is a former mosque and a mausoleum of the Amu Abdollah Soqla. The portal of the building probably dates from the time of the death of the hermit Amu Abdollah Soqla, who died around 1316. The two minarets are probably Safavid origin. They are the reason for the importance of the building as a tourist attraction in the city of Isfahan in Iran.

The mausoleum is of cubic shape with side lengths of about 10 m. The two minarets have a height of about 17 m. The special feature of the building is located in the moving minarets. When you enter one of the minarets, then the resulting movement of the minaret also transmits to the second minaret of the building that resonates. Because of these movements structural damage already incurred. For this reason, the minarets are not to commit to tourists today. The movements of the minarets are now triggered at predetermined times as an attraction.
