Mandaluyong

Mandaluyong ( officially: City of Mandaluyong, Filipino: Lungsod ng Mandaluyong, nickname: Tiger City ) is a Filipino metropolis in Metro Manila. The city is located on the main island of Luzon near the capital, Manila. Mandaluyong had 328 699 inhabitants on 1 May 2010.

Mandaluyong is best known for his infamous women's prison and the National Center for Mental Health. For this reason, Mandaluyong is not very popular and a lot cheaper than the other sub cities despite its central location to live.

Overall, Mandaluyong has a rather small town feel, despite the enormous population density of more than 27,000 people per square kilometer in large parts.

Nationally significant is the SM Megamall Mandaluyong, one of the biggest shopping centers in Asia. The Jose Rizal University and Arellano University are important educational institution in the city.
