Mango (airline)

Mango is a South African low-cost airline headquartered and based in Johannesburg and a subsidiary of South African Airways.

History

Mango was founded in 2006 by South African Airways as a low cost airline to come to companies such as Kulula and 1time in direct competition can. The original project name was Tulca (short for The Ultimate Low Cost Airline, GV " The ultimate low-cost airline " ), this shortcut is now also her call sign.

For the start of flight operations on 15 November 2006, the ticket sales began on 30 October 2006. Initially flights were sold for 169 Rand, which at that time represented about 50 % of the price of competitors.

Mango flies from OR Tambo International Airport and Lanseria International Airport to Cape Town, Durban and Bloemfontein and Cape Town to Durban and Bloemfontein also.
