Mannix

Mannix is an American crime drama, which was produced by Paramount Television (initially Desilu Productions ) for CBS. Between 1967 and 1975, 194 episodes emerged, each 48 minutes, spread over eight seasons.

Background

The main role of the Armenian- American private detective Joe Mannix Mike Connors played. In the first season he is employed by the detective Intertect under the direction of Lew Wickersham (Joseph Campanella ), from the second season of Mannix work independently. He receives support this by his secretary Peggy Fair ( Gail Fisher).

Among the guest performers included Tom Skerritt, Sheree North, Barry Sullivan, Cloris Leachman, Loretta Swit, Adam West, Darren McGavin, Martin Sheen, Fionnula Flanagan, Kim Hunter, Robert Loggia, Diana Muldaur, William Shatner, Anthony Zerbe and Susan Howard.

The series was considered a style icon of her era, and was twice nominated for an Emmy and four times for the Golden Globe, she won once.

The signature tune composed by Lalo Schifrin.

On German television ARD showed from 1969 to 1973 a total of 47 episodes. The remaining 147 episodes ran only from 1989 to 1995 on Pro 7 and the cable channel in German premiere.
