Manoao colensoi

Manoao colensoi is the only species of the monotypic genus Manoao from the family of Podocarpus plants ( Podocarpaceae ). This kind was before the revision of CJQuinn 1982 species Dacrydium.

Dissemination

Manoao colensoi is native to the North and South Islands of New Zealand, at altitudes between sea level and 950 meters.

Description

The small, evergreen trees reach heights of growth of 15 meters and trunk diameter of 100 centimeters. The bark is brownish - gray. The leaves in juvenile stages are 6 to 12 millimeters long, older plants have scale-like leaves, which are only about 1 to 2.5 millimeters long.
