Mansur Faqiryar

Mansur Faqiryar ( born January 3, 1986 in Kabul, Afghanistan) is an Afghan football goalkeeper, who also has German nationality.

Life

Faqiryar came in 1987 with his ethnic Tajiks accompanying parents who fled the civil war in Afghanistan, Germany and grew up in Bremen. After finishing school he studied industrial engineering in Bremen.

Career

Club career

The goalkeeper played at various clubs in Bremen. In 2009 he moved from FC Oberneuland to VfB Oldenburg. There he is captain.

National

Since 2009 he plays for the Afghanistan national football team. Previously, he played thirteen matches and has been South Asia 2013 champion. He was voted most valuable player of the tournament. Among others, he saved two penalty kicks in a game against Nepal ( 1-0) and was appointed by the people and President Hamid Karzai to " folk hero ".
