Manuel Mota (guitarist)

Manuel Mota ( born October 22, 1970 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese guitarist who is active in the field of jazz, improvisation and experimental music.

Mota began playing guitar at the age of fifteen. He was initially interested in blues before the end of the 1980s, the experimental music and to jazz. He experimented with the prepared guitar and played minimalist drone music under the influence of Phil Niblock.

In addition, he studied architecture and founded in the late 1990s, the label Headlights. Appeared in 1995 with Environment Analysis Report, the first of a number of his own albums.
