Manuel Pereira da Silva

Manuel Pereira da Silva ( born December 7, 1920 in Porto, † 2003) was a Portuguese sculptor.

The work of Manuel Pereira da Silva, one hand close to the abstract art, but on the other hand, inspired by the figure of man. In 2000, Manuel Pereira da Silva received an award for cultural achievements from the town of Vila Nova de Gaia advice.

Training

From 1939 to 1943 he attended the Academy of Fine Arts ( Escola Superior de Belas Artes - ) of the University of Porto. During his studies he was awarded two prizes, " Teixeira Lopes " and " Soares dos Reis ".

In the years 1946 and 1947 he studied in Paris at the École des Beaux -Arts.
