Manufaktura is one of the largest shopping centers in Poland in the city of Łódź.

History of the site

The site of the present Manufaktura was originally the site of the textile factory of Izrael Poznański. It belonged in the 19th century the largest such factories worldwide. The site housed apart from the actual factories and housing for the workers, a power plant, schools, etc. During the Second World War, the factory was expropriated by the Germans and nationalized after the end of the German occupation. After the end of the Polish People's Republic, the insolvency of the company was found in 1991 and 1992 it was closed. In 1999 the company filed for APSYS Polska interest, to work the land to a shopping and entertainment center. The French fund Foncière Euris and Paris Orléans made ​​the revitalization of the district due to its possible co-financing of the project. In 2002, the City of Łódź gave approval for the establishment of Manufaktura and in the following year, work began. The opening took place on 17 May 2006.

Site

The site covers an area of ​​27 acres with four kilometers of road. More than 300 tenants use a sales area of ​​11 hectares.

On the site there are a large number of stores of different sizes with different goods. There is also a bowling alley, 14 cinemas, a 3 -D cinema and other forms of entertainment.

In addition, located on the grounds of a factory museum showing the history of the factory and a museum of modern art. Furthermore, there is the four -star hotel "Andel 's Hotel " the most advanced and most expensive hotel in Łódź on the site.
