Mara Selvini Palazzoli

Mara Selvini Palazzoli ( born August 15, 1916 in Milan, † June 21, 1999 ibid ) was an Italian psychoanalyst. She developed the Milan model, a procedure in systemic family therapy.

Career

Mara Selvini Palazzoli - daughter of Daniele and Italia Palazzoli - studied medicine and then specialized training as an internist at the University Hospital of Milan. In her work, she met young women know who suffered from anorexia nervosa and developed in their treatment psychotherapeutic interest.
