Mara (torrent)

The Mara is a about eight kilometer long tributary of Lake Lugano in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland and in the Province of Como in Lombardy, Italy. The Mara rises at Sighignola directly to the state border. Then it flows through the district of Lugano and flows into the Lago di Lugano. After thunderstorms and rain the level of the stream can rise quickly.
