Marble Hills

The Marble Hills (English: Marble Mountains ) are a range of hills in the southern part of the Ellsworthgebirges in West Antarctica.

The ice-free chain is part of the Heritage Range mountain chain and is located on the western side of the Horseshoe Valley. In the northwest, the Liberty Hills, in the south east it is connected via the Cliff Morris with the Independence Hills. The highest elevations of the chain are Beitzel Peak, Minaret Peak ( 1,613 meters) at the northwest end and Mount Fordell ( 1,670 m) in the southwest.

Received its name from the existing marble ridge of a research expedition from the University of Minnesota, who explored the Ellsworthgebirge in the years 1962-1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names took over this proposal in 1964 as the official name.
