Marc Allégret

Marc Allégret ( born December 22, 1900 in Basel, † November 3, 1973 in Paris) was a French film director and brother of director Yves Allégret.

Life

After Marc Allégret had completed his law studies, he was secretary André Gide. While he accompanied Gide on an expedition to Africa, his first film, Voyage au Congo (1926 ) was born. He then worked as an assistant director for Augusto Genina and Robert Florey. In 1931, he began to turn their own films.

Allégret is considered the discoverer of Brigitte Bardot.
