Marcella Detroit

Marcella Detroit, actually Marcy Levy ( born June 21, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan ) is an American singer and songwriter.

Career

Marcy Levy had 18 of their first band in the early 1970s she was a member of the Bob Seger band and went on tour. When she was with Eric Clapton album two shots here, and she is co-author of his hit Lay Down Sally. Also with artists such as Aretha Franklin and Phil Collins, they worked together and in 1985 they played for Clapton at the Live Aid concert.

In 1988 she founded with the stepped out with Siobhan Fahey, Bananarama, the successful duo Shakespears Sister. At their joint successes include 're History ( 1989: UK # 7, DE # 55), the No. 1 hit Stay ( 1992 UK # 1, DE # 3, U.S. # 4) and Hello ( Turn Your Radio On ) (1992: UK # 14, DE # 12).

After the dissolution of Shakespears Sister they trod 1993 solo paths, worked in the same year on the Duets album by Elton John with and had in 1994 I Believe ( UK # 11, DE # 81) its biggest single success. This song was covered by Joana Zimmer in 2005, which reached # 2, and thus gold status with their version of the title in Germany.

In addition to her own music career, she has worked for other artists as a composer and music video producer today.
