Marcin UrbaÅ›

Marcin Urbaś ( born September 17, 1976 in Kraków ) is a former Polish sprinter who had his greatest successes in the 200 -meter run.

At the World Athletics Championships in 1999 in Seville, he came fifth in the individual competition and in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. In the semifinals, he broke it with 19.98 s of the 20 -year-old national record of Leszek Dunecki ( 20.24 s ). In 2000, he reached the quarterfinals at the Olympics in Sydney and was eighth with the Polish courier.

After a Halbfinalaus at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton he won gold at the Universiade the same year and at the Indoor Athletics Championships 2002 in Vienna. At the European Championships in Munich, he came in individual competition to the finals, but did not reach the goal, and won silver with the Polish team in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. In 2003, he reached the quarter- finals at the 2003 World Championships and was fifth in the relay.

Followed in 2004 with a sixth place finish at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest, the second part in the Olympics. While he was eliminated in the individual competition in the quarter-finals, he came up with the Polish relay to fifth place. At the European Indoor Championships in Madrid in 2005, he won bronze.

Marcin Urbaś was 1998-2000 singer of the technical death metal band Sceptic.
