Marco Benevento

Marco Benevento ( born July 22, 1977 in Livingston, New Jersey ) is an American musician (piano, keyboards, Hammond organ, Wurlitzer electric piano, mellotron ) and composer who in his music jazz, independent rock and experimental post- rock Einflüsses connects.

Life and work

Benevento grew up in the New Jersey on, learned the piano and began with drummer Joe Russo during their time on the junior high school to occur. After graduation he moved to Boston and studied at the Berklee School of Music ( 1999 results ) Keyboards at Joanne Brackeen. During this time he worked in Boston with the band jazz improvisation Farmers. After his move to New York City in 2001, he worked again with his old school friend Joe Russo, with whom he played as a duo at the Knitting Factory. Benevento / Russo took together on four albums. In 2005 he was a member of the rock band Jazz Garage A Trois; In 2006 he toured with Bobby Previte. In 2007 he had an engagement at New York club Tonic; from the recordings in different occupations, the 3- CD album Live at Tonic was the at the Independent Music Awards for Best Live Performance album was excellent. In the album Tiger Face ( 2012) he first worked with singers.
