Marco Borciani

Marco Borciani ( born December 7, 1975 in Desenzano del Garda, Lombardy, Italy ) is an Italian motorcycle racer.

Career

Borciani began his career in 1994 in the Italian Sport Production Championship. In 1996, he contested the Trofeo Honda and the Italian 125cc Sport Production Championship.

1997 debuted Borciani on a Honda in the 125cc European Championship. In the 125cc Grand Prix of Italy, he played in the same year as a wildcard rider be so far the only Grand Prix, but did not see it the checkered flag.

In 1999, Marco Borciani then moved to the Vertaktern who came to meet his good physique more than the small Grand Prix machines. He played in the team Rumi on Honda five races in the Supersport World Championship, collecting one point.

In the 2000 season he made his debut on the Ducati in the private Pedercini team in the Superbike World Championship. In 2002 he reached the 15th place in the World Cup in Pedercini Ducati.

For the 2003 season changed Borciani to D.F.X. Racing team where he went again as official test driver for Pirelli to Ducati at the start and finished tenth overall. In the Italian Superbike Championship, he finished second in this year. In 2004, Marco Borciani in the DFX team Tenth of World Superbike Championship and missed it twice with rank four very nearly a podium finish. In the Italian championship, he was again second. The following year, Borciani started continues for the DFX team that was called in this season Sterilgarda DFXtreme. First, we used the Yamaha YZF -R1, but quickly returned to the tried and tested Ducati motorcycles. In the World Cup, he finished only 27th overall.

2006 Marco started Borciani for the newly compiled and professionally organized team Sterilgarda Berik on Ducati 999 F05, the work machine of the previous year. His team-mate Spaniard Rubén Xaus was experienced. Borciani finished second in the World Cup, the 19th place and was able for the first time in his career to win the Italian Superbike Championship.

Since the 2007 season, acting Marco Borciani, next to his racing activities, as Team Manager at Team sterile Garda. On the Ducati 999 F06 he played six World Championship races and finished 20th overall. In the Italian championship, he was again first. 2008 Borciani finished sixth overall in the Italian championship.
