Marco Polo S. A. is a Brazilian manufacturer of buses and trolley buses.

History

Founded as the Marco Polo S. A. August 6, 1949 in Caxias do Sul as a company Nicola & Cia Ltda with 8 partners and 15 employees. It was produced entirely by hand. In 1971 the company was in Marco Polo S. A. Carrocierias e Onibus renamed.

In 1978 the bus company to go public. 13 years later a branch plant for the European market will be opened in the Portuguese Coimbra, which was closed in September 2009. 1998 Marco Polo leads a minibus under the brand Volare. Products

The most famous product is the double-decker Marcopolo Paradiso 1800 DD. It is one of the most common and best-known bus models in South America.
