Marcos António Senna da Silva ( born July 17, 1976 in São Paulo, Brazil) is a Brazilian- Spanish footballer, who plays for New York Comsos since 2013.

Association

Senna began his career with several Brazilian clubs. He played for the traditional club Corinthians, with which he was club champion (without insert in the final ). After his departure from AD São Caetano he played since 2002 at Villarreal. The beginning of his career in Europe was somewhat slow: Only two knee injury put him out of action for months, then he was in 2004 closed due to a positive doping test three months. However, Senna fought back and was one of the top performers in the team, as Villarreal 2005/ 06 moved into the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League and was in season 2007/ 08 Spanish runner-up. In 2008 he was also named the best Spanish player of the year. On 27 April 2008, he scored against Real Betis " the best goal of his life " after a shot from half court. At the end of the 2011/12 season Senna rose with Villarreal in the Segunda División. Nevertheless, he held the club loyalty. In the 2012/13 season with the Yellow Submarine, he managed to immediate re- ascent. Then he announced after eleven years of club membership resign from Villarreal. With 363 official matches, he was at that time a record player of the club.

On June 13, 2013, he moved to the United States to New York Cosmos.

National

Marcos Senna in addition to the Brazilian took 2006 to the Spanish citizenship so that he could participate with the Spanish national football team at the FIFA World Cup 2006. Senna took under coach Luis Aragonés an important role for the Spanish national team, as he represented the physically strong hedge rather frail offensively oriented Xavi, Andres Iniesta, David Silva and Cesc Fàbregas. Senna won with the Selección EURO 2008. For the Soccer World Cup 2010 in South Africa, he was not nominated.
