Marcq-en-Ostrevent

Marcq -en- Ostrevent is a commune in the Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais.

Geography

Marcq -en- Ostrevent is located about 170 km north-east of Paris and about 25 km as the crow from the Belgian border. The neighboring communities of Marcq -en- Ostrevent are southwest and west Féchain Fressain. It is connected by the D132 with Villers -au- Tertre and Wavrechain -sous- Faulx as well as the D150 with Auberchicourt.

Demographics

The first records of the population data are from 1793. Those days lived in the community, which was still called Marq, 318 people. In the following years, the population grew steadily to just over 500 people and has remained stable since the mid-19th century, except for minor variations. Currently (January 1, 2011) inhabit 625 people this community.

History

1793 was the place nor Marq. 1801 was followed by the renaming in today's place names. Since the same year, he also belongs to the canton Arleux, before he belonged to the Canton Lewarde.
