Marcus (son of Basiliscus)

Marcus (Greek Μάρκος; † 476 in Limnai, Cappadocia ) was the son and co-ruler of the Eastern Roman Emperor Basiliscus counter from 475 to 476 His mother was Aelia Zenonis.

In January 475 Basiliskos had deposed in a palace coup Zenon and driven into exile to Syria. Shortly after the government takeover of Constantinople Opel Marcus was appointed Caesar and transported in the same year Augustus. In August 476 Zenon came with military aid back to power. Some late-antique sources, Marcus and his parents fled to the protection of a church, were still imprisoned and exiled at the behest of Zeno by Limnae in Cappadocia, where you left them in a dry cistern imprisoning and thirst.
