Marcus Thornton (basketball, born 1987)

Marcus Terrell Thornton ( born June 5, 1987 in Baton Rouge ) is an American professional basketball player. He is 193 cm tall and plays at the position of the Guards ( point guard, shooting guard ). Marcus Thornton is the cousin of Al Thornton.

He played before his NBA career for the college team of Louisiana State University (166 miles from New Orleans ). He was 2009 player of the year in the Southeastern Conference. Thornton was selected at the NBA Draft 2009, 43 out of the Miami Heat and immediately transferred to the New Orleans Hornets. In 2011, he was transferred to the Sacramento Kings and plays ever since. For the Kings Thornton ran until February 2014. Shortly before the end of the transfer window, he was finally transferred from the Kings to the Brooklyn Nets. In turn, moved among other guard Jason Terry to Sacramento.
