Maren Meinert (* August 5, 1973 in Rheinhaus today district of Duisburg ) is a German football coach and former football player.

Career

Career as a player

In the Bundesliga, Meinert played for FC Rumeln - Kaldenhausen or after renaming FCR Duisburg and FFC Brauweiler Pulheim 2000 before the attacking midfielder in 2001 moved to the Boston Breakers in the WUSA with Bettina Wiegmann. In the WUSA, she was elected most valuable player in 2003. With 81 scorer points, it is the most successful scorer WUSA history. Her achievements were the profits of the European Championships in 1995, 1997, 2001 with the German national team and the victory at the 2003 World Cup in the USA. Between 9 October 1991 and 12 October 2003, she completed a total of 92 caps for the DFB team. After winning the World Cup Maren Meinert 2003 ended her career as a player.

Career as a trainer

Since July 2005 she has been working as a trainer at the DFB. There, she coached the U-19 national team and the U-20 national team.
