Margarida Teresa da Silva e Orta

Teresa Margarida da Silva e Orta (* 1711 or 1712 in São Paulo, † 1792 in Lisbon; pseudonym: Dorotéia Engrássia Tavareda Dalmira ) was a Brazilian writer of the Age of Enlightenment.

At age six, she moved with her parents to Portugal, where they lived the rest of her life. Your most significant publication are 1752 published in Lisbon maxima de Virtude e Formosura that were re-released in 1777 under the title Aventuras de Diófanes. Based on Francois Fenelon Adventures of Telemachus, it involves a critique of royal absolutism and advises the king of enlightened paternalism.

It is considered a first novelist in Portuguese language.
