Margarita Fullana

Margarita Fullana Riera ( born April 9, 1972 in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar ) is a Spanish cyclist and three-time World Mountain Bike Champion.

Cycling career

Since the late 1980s, Margarita is one of the strongest Spanish women cyclists and is successful on the road, mountain bike and cyclo-cross races. Even as a junior, she won podium places in the Spanish road championships. They became a Spanish vice - champion in the road race of women, in 1999 Spanish Champion 1993.

Three times Fullana went cross country at the Olympic Games at the start; In Sydney in 2000, she won the bronze medal. 1997 Fullana was third at the Mountain Bike World Championships in Cross Country, 1999, 2000 and 2008, she won the world title. 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2005, she was third in each of the European Championship. In 2002 she won second place in the Mountain Bike World Cup. In 2009 she was also Spanish vice- champion in cross-country race, 2013 Spanish champion in cross country.

Doping

In August 2010, Margarita was tested at a training control positive for doping with Epo and for two years - until the end of September 2012 - locked.
